SOUL PORTRAITS

Working with the photographic medium, I layer images in camera through multiple exposure, with the intention of weaving together texture and form. Dancing with the unknown, the images are not planned, rather experienced through the act of creative play. Each group of images is unique to the subject; documenting their story, and their personal relationship to the sacred. The foundation of this project lies within ancient Animistic wisdom. For thousands of years, humankind observed the spirit world in relationship to ones own power and to the natural world. Earth ritual, as well as journey and ceremony, have been the grounds for profound healing and growth in many cultures across the world since the beginning of time. As the modern world evolves these traditions, we are finding new ways to work with ancient knowledge. One way is through creation with mystery.
